The short story is I bought this vise on Ebay as a speculation. I ended up getting if for a fraction of the new price. To my surprise and delight the vise was in excellent shape but badly stained. Now, I really didn't need a second grinding vise, so on a chance I asked the great folks at Hermann Schmidt workholding hschmidt.com if they would be interested in helping out in a collaboration to ultimately give the vise away to someone coming up in the trades. You will be happy to know they were more than willing. Yes we are giving this vise away to an apprentice in the trade!
