Known as the city of churches, Adelaide has also been described as the city of pubs.

The third in a series of talks, 'Here's luck' presents sometimes amusing, sometimes seedy stories of our pubs in days gone by – the SP illegal betting, serving drinks after hours, lurk merchants and larrikins.

The smell of stale beer and cigarette smoke might be strong, and the bar staff might raise an eyebrow, but don’t let that stop you raising a metaphorical glass to our pus of yore.
