Spaces is the sixth studio album by Minneapolis jazz pianist Herb Pilhofer, who co-founded the Sound 80 digital recording studio this album was recorded in. Don't let the cover deceive you, the album is an experimental, almost free whirlwind of funk, fusion, free, experimental, even cool jazz, never returning to the same idea twice, a forgotten masterpiece in my opinion. It uses practically everything except the human voice, though it sure sounds like it sometimes! Notably one of the first digitally recorded albums EVER. The sound quality barely resembles vinyl, it's nearly perfect in every way. Recorded on first play from a brand-new sealed copy.
