Can you believe it’s been FIVE YEARS since I last made a mermay video??? I can’t! Yet here we are lol.
It felt like everytime this time of year came around, I never had enough time to make a mermay video. Which really saddened me as I really REALLY love mermay and the whole mermaid aesthetic. So when my friend Faben opened up this MEP, I JUMPED at the opportunity. I’ve had all of these ideas stirring in me and I wanted to finally do something with them!
The part with Ariel and Cale was originally part of a separate video that included Kida in it, but I cut her out to shorten the part. I kinda like that I did because these were the only two scenes of that video I was even interested in editing.
The part with Nani and Mulan is actually inspired by a show I adored as a kid called H2O, where 3 human teenage girls end up turning into mermaids everytime they touch water. Originally I was trying to find characters that looked like the actual characters from the show, but instead I decided to do these two because they fit the scenes best. Also they made an animated H2O, which is where these backgrounds are from!
