Puerto Rican drummer Henry Cole performs "Sobre La Arena (Alegrías)," a song by Spanish Flamenco singer Niña Pastori, during his first solo concert in Santurce, Puerto Rico. As a tribute to great singers and a desire to translate words into rhythms, Henry Cole converted some of his favorite tracks into a cappella versions, giving him the freedom to construct and improvise a new accompaniment that connects with the lyrics, phrasing, and energy of singers without being tied to specific patterns or genres.
