Henrhyd Falls is the highest waterfall in South Wales, plunging an impressive 90 feet (27 metres) into a deep, wooded gorge. Located on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park near the village of Coelbren, this spectacular site is managed by the National Trust and is completely free to visit.
The waterfall achieved global fame after featuring as a prominent filming location in Christopher Nolan’s 2012 superhero blockbuster, The Dark Knight Rises. It served as the real-world exterior hiding the entrance to Batman's Batcave. Just like in the movie, a unique rock recess allows visitors to physically walk directly behind the roaring curtain of water.
