In this REL Mid-Atlantic webinar, Helping Students Become Stronger Writers: Practical Resources for Elementary Classrooms, writing experts, researchers, and classroom teachers introduce a new free toolkit designed to strengthen elementary writing classroom instruction.

Participants receive a guided tour of the toolkit’s resources, including lesson plans, self-reflection tools, PLC guides, and school leader supports, and hear firsthand from teachers who piloted and independently implemented the toolkit. Speakers share practical strategies for integrating writing across subjects, fostering student collaboration, and increasing writing time to improve both writing and reading outcomes. The session highlights flexible implementation options for professional learning communities and individual educators, offering concrete, classroom-ready approaches to developing confident, capable young writers.
