Over two years ago, Edward Snowden revealed that GCHQ had created mass surveillance programmes without informing the public or even parliament. At first the Government refused to confirm or deny whether these leaks were true. Now they've gone and put all of these powers and more into the draft Investigatory Powers Bill. If this Bill is passed, our online activity will be kept and analysed, whether or not we are suspected of a crime.
Many people are outraged about these mass surveillance powers but the Government is using the fear of terrorism to persuade the public that they should give up their rights.
