This is a prototype for a larger project I’m hoping to work on: a cross‑genre showcase of the greatest engine sounds in gaming. For this prototype version, I’ve pulled together examples from a few racing games, Armstrong Powerhouse sounds for Train Simulator, and the B.A.T. mod for IL‑2 Sturmovik 1946 to explore how different games capture the character of engines across land, rail, and air.
The full project will include a much wider range of games, vehicles, and mods. Featuring cars, trucks, tanks, jets, warbirds, locomotives, sci‑fi engines, and anything else that makes mechanical noise worth hearing. Since I obviously don’t have access to every game out there, I’ll be relying on viewer‑submitted clips to help build the final, expanded version.
