My hobby: trying to fit a weapon light, IR laser module, and two buttons onto a sub 10" AR handguard.
The Surefire dual pad in this video is actually an SR-09-D, so it has 2" of extra cable length over the SR-07-D. More flexible for mounting the switch to the rear on a longer handguard, but not really recommended. On even shorter guns, two Modbutton Lites takes up less rail estate than the Surefire dual pad, plus there are options for mounting them to M-Lok, or at an angle, or off to the side. Think about it.
