Helicopters are launching a nonstop aerial attack on the Timber Fire, dipping into a nearby pond to pull water before making drops along the fire line.
Crews are using multiple helicopters, including a Chinook, to reach steep and rugged areas inaccessible to firefighters on the ground. The fire has grown to more than 5,200 acres and remains 24% contained.
