Death models fill up every screen. Meanwhile, we are being-toward-death, and yet avoid thinking about it. This is part one of (at least) two videos on how we conceive of death, and how we might consider it a source of meaning--that is, until the simulation machine processes it.

This video explains the basics of Heidegger's phenomenology, throws in some ready-to-hand and other explanations, but is intended as a general argument as to how death gives life meaning. The next video will show the alternative: the disenchantment of death.
