The Secretary of Defense was in Northeast Wisconsin Monday as part of his nationwide “Arsenal of Freedom” tour.
During the visit, Secretary Pete Hegseth saw firsthand how Oshkosh Corporation builds advanced tactical vehicles, including the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) and Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary Fires (ROGUE-Fires).
Hegseth believes what he calls the War Department has much more work to do. The Trump administration asking Congress to pass a $1.5 trillion budget for the military.
Since receiving the original JLTV contract in 2015, Oshkosh Defense has manufactured more than 25,000 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles for the U.S. Armed Forces and allied partners worldwide.
Ahead of his arrival, people could be seen on the streets in Oshkosh, holding up signs, protesting Hegseth's visit.
