The “Morpho Medley” is a series of 2021 remix medleys deriving inspiration from several characters in the Kirby franchise. (Primarily centered around boss themes) These tracks are loosely based on the medleys that play during the fight with Morpho Knight in Star Allies. Star Abraham is responsible for the primary artwork in this series, and Jameson Mozelle is behind the gameplay edits featured in the background. When played in chronological order, these tracks will lead into each other and thematically share characteristics. At the end of this series, I will release a video with the entire medley.
This one was WAY HARDER than the first episode. Im tired, its 2AM and Im going to work tom- I mean today. Just want to say, HUGE HUGE thanks to Star Abraham for the absolutely breathtaking artwork here, and my utmost gratitude to Jameson as well, seriously dude. Something important to my viewers, I need to communicate this to you. The editing and production for this video, (as well as my last two music compilations to a lesser extent) has been extremely draining. I lost a lot of sleep, and I often felt like I was letting down my friends/audience, which affected some of my real-life shenanigans. Id also think it was hard for TNH and Star when I had essentially most of the creative control over the final video, especially after all the work they had provided. All I can say is, I have a nasty habit of putting too much pressure on myself. I finally met my match with this upload.
Oh right, and Im in school now. Thank gravy I got this done before summers end.
I want to continue providing to the people in the community, and I want to keep making music for YouTube. I want to do crazy editing and cool stuff... But most of all I want to have fun. I understand that the large uploads are a bit of a draw to my channel, but after this video, I dont think Star, TNH, or myself have anything to prove as far as work ethic goes. Id like to do single track uploads for a while, with essentially the same attention that each track received in this video. I truly deeply hope you understand and I hope to keep your attention in the future. I beat the True Arena today. Holy crap the last boss was damn awesome. And no joke.
This hit 24k and is thus, my most supported upload. Even the ratings and comments have been crazy supportive. I did NOT expect this, man. I cant thank you all enough, Im really being spoiled.
I had also planned to do some of the other battle themes from Robobot in this video, but I ended up making an extended remix of Mind in a Program instead. Itll take me a while to figure out the rest of them too, they have quite the unusual structure! This remix was one of the most difficult, confusing, fun, and exhilarating adventures I’ve taken up. First of all, I broke it up into four different sections listed below.
-Introduction
-Main body
-16-bit Revamp of “main body”
-16-bit + “Kirby’s Adventure” Custom closure (References some tracks relevant in Robobot)
I had initially created the “main body” first. This was oddly the only part of the song that was finalized and ultimately created in Garageband using “Kontakt 5” instruments. This was also by far, the most difficult section of the song, because I had implemented a new technique in the creative process. This was a dumb idea. Many times when I design a track, I have the lead melody, bass melody, and a couple supporting melodies all layered on top of one another. In this scenario, I thought I could implement a “one size fits all supporting melody” throughout the entire body. Essentially, instead of creating more than one supporting melody, I’d just make a HUGE FILL THE WHOLE SCREEN WITH NOTES supporting melody, and assign a couple instruments to it, rather than making different supporting melodies for each instrument. This didn’t create an unprofessional sound (I don’t think so…?) it just made it WAY harder for it to sound good at all. I did reach a point when I was satisfied, but it was VERY unrewarding for this particular section of the song. I DO NOT recommend this method, it took way too long, and while it does make managing multiple supporting melodies simpler, it won’t matter in the long run because you’re gonna be editing the one that’s there so damn much that it’ll take even longer.
The introduction was also an odd process, I actually made this section twice! Two totally different melodies. I ended up making the piano too loud on the first version, and believe it or not, since I was using the FL Studio demo to make it…. I couldn’t save my project mid-work. So, I started over. Fortunately, the old one was actually much too shitty by comparison as a whole, so I’m glad it happened the way it did! I wanted also, to create some kind of instant dramatic startup that kind of grabs the viewer by the throat with the WAYAWA of Kirby, but… I might’ve scared people off.
- I had to cut the other two section descriptions because of a description word limit, but these went smoothly and I had a ton of fun with. Visual effects were very fun for me to make, but the illustration of Susie was done by Halgalaz.

Now let’s talk technical. I have never in my life had a project crash my damn computer as many times as this. The main body especially. There came a point when I couldn’t even WORK on certain parts of the main body because my WHOLE computer would slow down to an absolute crawl. When it normally takes me seven seconds at max to open up my options for an instrument, it would now take 3-10 minutes! And that’s EVERY DAMN TIME I want to edit an instrument! Even after I finally rendered it, nine times out of ten, HALF THE INSTRUMENTS WERE MISSING IN THE RENDERED FILE. So, I had to render ‘em separately and put ‘em together.

Thank you all for reaching out to me, I’m really glad I had a chance to connect more on a personal level on my “Behind the Scenes Video.” I’ve been surprised that my channel has actually grown a decent bit ever since I put up that video. Full disclosure, I actually haven’t ever played this game before. This was a track that was recommended to me on my channel and I wanted to branch out. The original track really touched my heart and this is a style that I have never really done before on my channel. A couple of folks reached out to me with some context on the boss/theme and I pieced together some other stuff for the video by just watching gameplay. This was a departure from my usual content, I was so pleasantly surprised with some of the feedback from my subscribers! Thanks a lot guys! For those new here, I typically tackle remixes from the Kirby series, and occasionally obscure retro games, but theres a small chance I may do a few other boss themes from Undertale down the road. This was initially uploaded as a Christmas present for someone who played Undertale with me throughout my first semester at college. It was unlisted but some weird ass views showed up from unexpected areas (listed on the geography of the analytics) so I ended up making it public earlier than planned. I had others to put up prior because thats what I said I was gonna do, cause I didnt want to piss anybody off, even though I am a small YouTuber. But its not like it wasnt finished, ya know, I just wanted it to come later, but I got a little paranoid that someone might swipe the video before I could make it public. Midnight helped me further acknowledge that there is greater importance to what I do here on YouTube than I think. The joy some gain from media like this could be all they claim to have. Mainly for those who struggle emotionally. Just another reason for me to step up the quality of my content, huh? Recently I’ve been more and more aquatinted with the value behind these games. I started to realize that if some only want to gain joy from this life, there isn’t really anything more important.
And that’s what this media is supposed to do. It is supposed to inspire joy.
When I first started YouTube, it was about me. I just wanted to have somewhere people would like me. I suppose I was attempting to glorify myself. This is still something I struggle with, so bear with me…. but... As I continue, I start to do videos on the most obscure content, knowing that not many will see, but there’s such a big impact left on those who do. Oddly, this is when I finally started trying harder, and I stopped thinking about myself as much.
I’ve wanted those who did see the videos to know that they’re interests are shared, and that they have every reason to try harder even if they don’t get much attention. Growing up, (Something I’m still in the process of doing) I never really had the interests my friends did. My taste in media was always a long shot for them. It never amounted to anything extreme, but it was frustrating, and it’s basically a feeling I hope to further diminish in other people by making content based on extremely obscure games.
Though, Kirby’s not that obscure, but this could potentially be the most important video I’ve done yet. Why is that? We will all find our bigger reasons for doing what we do. I feel like the reason I found is not what I thought it would be. I often joke about the extreme mood changes of Kirby games, swinging from terrifying to cute, but it’s oddly the embodiment of the ways many of us feel throughout our days.
My mental status, as well as the ones of many others, have just consisted of a collection of extremes. This has lead to a huge fear of my own action. I constantly worry about what I might screw up. I ain’t looking for pity, take note of that. While I can’t speak for other people, it mainly amounts to social mishaps, which are the cause of most depression. What comes from there is fear of the unknown. We are afraid of what is out there, or whether or not we can handle it, or other people.
These disorienting mood swings can also put us in situations where we want to make a decision. Could be a wrong decision. We just can’t tell because we’re in the heat of the moment. Another thing that kills me personally is when I’m whining about something, and then people think I’m looking for sympathy. I just want acknowledgement. If someone is struggling with depression, I think pity is a lame route to take to cheer them up.
While I’ve never experienced anything extreme, my main request from me to you is this. A blunt one. Don’t hurt yourself. I mean that in every way, metaphorically, and literally. Don’t beat yourself up over what happens. And even if all else fails, even if you cant handle yourself, I still say you dont have to worry about that boiled strawberry jam. (Thats a bit of an inside joke)
And thus, my conversation with Midnight led me to write this on her requested video. I requested that she make a request, though. I think it still counts. This is why it is perhaps my most important video, or at least my most meaningful video. Mainly shows my gratitude.
