The heat continues to build as we head toward the weekend, with afternoon highs climbing above 100°. Some Saharan dust will also bring hazy skies at times.
☀️ TODAY: Mostly Sunny & Hazy
🌡️ Highs: 99°–103°
💨 Winds: SE 6–12 mph
A humid start this morning gives way to another dry-heat afternoon with temperatures topping 100° in many spots. Saharan dust moving through will add some haze to the sky.
🔥 FRIDAY: Mostly Sunny & Very Hot
🌡️ Highs: 100°–104°
💨 Winds: ESE 6–12 mph
A very hot finish to the workweek. Humidity levels will drop again during the afternoon, leaving us with a dry heat as temperatures climb above 100°.
🥵 SATURDAY: Mostly Sunny & Very Hot
🌡️ Highs: 101°–105°
💨 Winds: SSE 5–10 mph
Temperatures climb another degree or two as high pressure strengthens over Texas. Afternoon humidity will drop, helping keep the heat index closer to the actual air temperature. Some haze will remain possible from dust in the area.
⚠️ Bottom line: Dangerous heat will be the main weather story through the weekend. Stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, and never leave children or pets in a vehicle.
