How can enterprise IT folks prepare for the age of Mythos? Anthropic says its Claude Mythos model is so much better at finding software vulnerabilities that it has delayed public release. Instead Anthropic launched Project Glasswing to give IT infrastructure and software makers early access, so they can have some lead time to address vulnerabilities in their products and infrastructures.
IT leadership needs to be scrambling, now, to plan how it will cope with the flood of patches and security updates that will come out of Glasswing, and with the new world of AI-driven vulnerability management Mythos heralds. Will throwing money and people at the problem help? Is there time to do anything meaningful to advance dawdling security initiatives? Can a firewall still be a firewall, or has the time come to ditch them entirely?
