If your headphones don't switch over from the speakers when plugging them into the jack of the computer this tutorial might resolve your issue.
Instructions:
1. Search "System" in the start menu
2. Click "advanced system settings"
3. Click on the "Hardware" tab
4. Click "Device installation settings"
5. Ensure "No, let me choose what to do" and "Never install driver software from Windows update" are selected and click "save settings
6. Search "Device Manager" in the start menu
7. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers"
8. Right click "VIA HD Audio" and click on "Properties"
9. Click on the "Driver" tab
10. Click "Roll Back Driver"
11. If prompted click "Yes"
12. Restart the computer and it should now work
If continued problem:
12. Follow step 6 and 7
13. Right click "VIA HD Audio" and click on "Uninstall"
14. Ensure "Delete the driver software for this device" is checked and click "OK"
15. Right click in the white area in Device Manager and click on "Scan for Hardware Changes"
16. Restart your computer
17. Your audio should now work
