Ted returns to London to take charge of the new AFC Richmond women's team, the Lady Greyhounds, navigating immediate friction as he faces structural inequalities and skepticism from the local community. The core tension revolves around assistant coach Alice Chilton (Tanya Reynolds), who resigns after being passed over for the head coaching job, prompting Rebecca to spin out into an existential crisis about her own feminist credentials. Meanwhile, Roy Kent and Keeley navigate their lingering romantic chemistry while setting up the visitors' locker room, leading Roy to intentionally "fire" a disheveled Coach Beard over a fake infraction so he can freely rejoin Ted's staff.
