In the opening of his letter to the Ephesians, Paul can hardly contain himself. In one breathless, unbroken sentence, he piles up blessing upon blessing — every gift that is ours in Christ. Before the world began, the Father chose us to be holy and blameless. He adopted us as His own children. He redeemed us by the blood of His Son, freed us from the accusations and power of the enemy, and forgave every one of our trespasses. It's more than we can take in.
"Blessed Be Our God and Father" invites us to slow down and dwell on these riches — and to remember that we did nothing to earn a single one of them. The glory belongs to God alone, who has shown us kindness beyond imagination, for His everlasting praise and our ever-increasing joy!
