Age Of Empires Online (also known as AoEO) is free to play cartoony themed MMORTS set in the ancient world. The game is published by Microsoft Studios and developed by Robot Entertainment and Gas Powered Games.
Although the game is free to play, it includes an additional option of purchasing premium content. Premium content may include access to many special items and blueprints, and more quests and features. Also, booster packs are now available, such as Defense of Crete. This particular pack gives the player the ability to play in a horde type mode game. This is done in either single-player or co-op.

Sparta coin is used to purchase items and gear from stores in the Sparta region. You can toggle Ranked and Unranked for 1v1 and 2v2. Ranked play currently requires a premium level 25 Capital City. Unranked matches have no leaderboard.

When creating a character there is 8 different classes:
1.Shaman

Use of shuriken as their based attack damage, added-up with flammable and poisonous traps will reign havoc to an opponent. A clever scout uses the following ability to overcome different obstacles, backstab his enemy while hiding, agility for quick blow, high evasion to avoid incoming attack and precision for accurate damage.
5.Sniper
- The snipers prefer light armor which enables them to move swiftly in the battlefield. The cannon they use accelerates piercing rounds using a mana generator, and shoots them through a long slim barrel. It can accurately hit enemies much farther away than the bow and arrow or normal magic can.
6.Guardian
- The Guardians wear a mithril scale armor that has very good defensive power. The enormous long swords wielded by Guardians are sacred tools guiding them to reach their star.
7.Assasin
- The agile suits made of dragon skin can make the fatal attraction of an Assassin stand out all the more. Having to make surprise attacks on enemy supply troops or assassinating their enemy commander, an Assassin doesnt wear cumbersome outfits as it engages covertly and swiftly.
8.Magician
- Magicians protect themselves using the magical powers from aurora gems, they prefer to wear thin magical robes conducive for concentration over thick armor. They are said to have learned some Draconic magic.
Dragon Transformation:
- This is the process of temporarily borrowing the power of the dragons to enable the use of their power. This will transform the characters body either in part or full. Dragon Transformation is broadly classified into Partial Transformation and Full Transformation. It is powerful in battle between characters and helpful for group play although its battle ability is not that powerful. The transformation is specialized for solo play
PvP Systems:
1.Battle Arena:
- Battle arena is held at a designated time every day and is an instant siege battle anyone can participate in. Unlike PK, you can enjoy one-on-one matches without risk or loss, and since you can obtain rewards such as EXP, potion, and buff effect, it can be very helpful in playing Dragona.
2&3.Battle of Celebration & Battle of Might:
- The Battle of Celebration and Battle of Might are both usually held every 2 hours. The Battle of Celebration is held for 30 minutes in 100 on 100 matches, and the Battle of Might is carried out for 10 minutes in 3 on 3, 6 on 6, and 36 on 36 matches. Each match is held in 30 minute intervals.
4.PK (Player Killing):
- This is different from PVP (Player vs. Player) where you face off under mutual consent. To limit indiscriminate PKs, there is an Honor Points system.
Instance Dungeon:
- Instance Dungeons are exclusive to Dragona. You can enter them with an instance dungeon key acquired through field hunting or trade. Within them you can collect items of exceptional capabilities by completing these dungeons.
Gear Crafting:
- In Dragona, items are in various grades. The most remarkable item grade is unique grade, and an item of this grade can only be obtained through a process called Crafting. The war between the Allies and the Axis has moved to space and players will command their space battleships in intense tactical combats with teammates. Players can choose between several ship classes. Players can make own skills templates according to their preferences: attack, defense, speed and maneuverability or recon.
Ship Classes:
1.Corvette
- These ships are fast and easy to navigate. They are perfect for initiating swift attacks on large opposing vessels.
2.Frigate
This light-weight craft specializes in reconnaissance operations and is equipped with incredible radar range capabilities. Frigates are ideal for infiltrating enemy lines or escorting fleets.
3.Destroyer
Powerful mid-sized ships effective at striking enemies during rigorous battles. This class can annihilate multiple ships regardless of their size.
4.Cruiser
Considered as one of the largest vessels this ship has a reputation of withstanding high volumes of damage with no problems. Its an excellent spacecraft to have protecting other allied ships.
5.Dreadnought
This craft was designed to support coordinated attacks. Dreadnoughts are valued command ships that every faction should have on their side during combat.
Once players have selected their spacecraft they simply enter the lobby area to find an available match. There are no quests or single player practice options. Each match features a specific map and can have up to 12 players. Although the game features a nice selection of map modes theres not a structured match system implemented which leads to unbalanced teams that pin high level players against newbies.
The game features two battle modes:
1. Conquest Mode:
- The most commonly used is the Conquest mode. In this mode players are divided into teams and fight together to destroy their enemys Starbase. The team that successfully destroys their opponents stronghold first wins. The entire team earns a looting reward and each individual player receives experience from kills and captures.
2.Battlefield Mode:
- In the Battlefield mode its all about taking out your opponents. The main objective in this match is to wipe out the opposition three consecutive times or occupy an objective for more than 120 seconds. The first team to do so automatically wins.
Controls:
- Players have to use their mouse to right-click on their desired location. Hitting the W or S keys will speed up or slow down the vessels speed. Wherever a user clicks the vessel will travel directly there hitting into any objects in the set path. When an enemy is in sight players must left click to target the rival ship and press the space bar to fire weaponry. Spacecrafts must be facing the vessel in the appropriate direction enabling the cannons to accurately shoot for a successful assault.
Enviroment:
- Each environment or map is slightly different with obstacles scattered throughout the galaxy in the form of gigantic gas clouds, plasma storms, planets, bases, and asteroids. Players have to carefully select their ships passageways to avoid running into these obstacles. Its quite easy to get the ship destroyed by accidentally setting a course near some asteroids.
Strategy:
- Players will have to make tricky maneuvers, elaborate efficient strategies and most of all play collective if they want to be victorious. This strategy gives players quite a challenge. There are some obstacles like crystal fields can be captured generating extra escort ships. Capturing a planet on the battlefield also rewards users with bonus command points. During battles AI controlled escort ships randomly appear to help attack the opposing factions Starbase. Players can shoot down their rivals automated fleets for additional XP. Experience points accumulated during combat can later be used to purchase various upgrades for vessels.
Skills:
- There are up to 20 different skills that can be unlocked and purchased as a player levels up their ships. Master the Quantum Leap or the Shockwave which sends 200 damage points to all ships within range. Each spacecraft is limited in the number of skills it can possess at a given time. The skills your rivals ship is using remains concealed during combat. Only the first level of each ship can be upgraded with skills and add-ons. Premium users have access to cooler weaponry, ammunition, hulls, and skills. Theres not much free users can do in terms of customization unless they switch over to a premium member.

Headhunting:
- Head Hunting is a unique mode where one person on each team is chosen. The other team must kill this person in order to win the round.
Hold the Line:

They specialize in miniguns and rocket launchers and have skills to allow them to sustain large amounts of damage while their teammates assist.
4.Robotics:
- Turrets, shields, and gadgets make up the robotics arsenal. This class takes advantage of tactical equipment to hold their ground in combat. Robotics players are extremely useful in team combat as they provide priceless support to their allies. A well placed turret or some mobile cover can make all the difference in a challenging encounter.
As a player progresses, his character gains Skill points, which can be used to gain small, cumulative increases to the players devices and armor. Each class has 3 trees the player can spend Skill points in, with the more powerful buffs requiring a larger investment into a single tree to reach.
All 4 classes share the Balanced tree, which includes general buffs to Health, damage, Power Pool, and Protection. Each class also has 2 more trees that are specific to each class.

Markmanship - Bonuses to the Recons Rifles including increased range, quicker accuracy centering, reduced Power costs, as well as increased duration and potency of Stims.
Infiltration - Boosts the effectiveness of Recon melee attacks and explosive charges.

Healing - Increases the potency of the Medics specialty devices and Healing off-hands.
Poison - Increases the damage and effect of the Medics Poison debuffs and related devices.
Assault Skill Trees:
Tank - Increases the Assaults Protections and defensive off-hands.
Destroyer - Increases the potency of the Assaults Specialty weapons and explosive off-hands.
Robotics Skill Trees:
Engineer - Increases the effects of the Robotics Stations and Turrets, as well as the Repair Arms
Drones - Increases the effectiveness of the Robotics Drones and Rifles.
Dyes:
- Suits and some weapon devices can be dyed. There are three dye slots for suits; Primary, Secondary, and Emissive. There are two dye slots for weapons; Primary and Emissive. Emissive is the glowing part of the armour or weapon. Dyes of higher tiers are generally more vibrant or saturated and lower tiers are more pastel.

There are 4 classes in Army Rage:
1.Assault
- They use powerful assault rifles and grenades to demolish their enemies. Theyre the basic infantry type character. (equips powerful grenades and assault rifles)
2.Scout
- Scouts are the sniper class. They can kill their enemies from a distance using powerful sniper rifles. Theyre vulnerable when enemies get too close. (skilled sniper)
3.Support

Players will encounter the heaviest firepower ever seen in games of this class.
Game Modes:
1.Team Deathmatch
- The Team Deathmatch mode has one ultimate goal - shoot as many enemies as possible - every frag counts to your teams victory. The system will divide you in two separate teams. You receive 1 point for every killed enemy and you can monitor your team score at all times on the upper central part of your screen. Your team wins when you achieve the goal.
2.Rush
- In the Rush mode players are divided into offense and defense teams. The offense team has to detonate every keypoint within the time limit; the defense team has to hold the keypoints at all cost. Every keypoints status is shown in the upper central part of your screen so you can carefully monitor them during your game play in order not to lose the game. The maps of the Rush mode are divided in several stages and there are several keypoints (usually two) in each stage. When all the keypoints in one stage are detonated, the battle will proceed to the next stage. When all keypoints in all stages are detonated or you ran out of time, all players will exchange teams and fight again. When both teams are finished attacking, the system will compare their scores and finish times to determine who the winner is.
3.Domain Control
- In the Domain Control mode, players are divided in two teams and each of them has to capture and defend as many flags as possible. Each team has to capture the flags in the right order. While there are no enemy players around the flag a player can start lowering the enemys flag and raising his flag. Each flag the team has captured will generate score in time and the first team that achieves the goal wins the game. If one team captured all flags it wins the game right away.
4.King Of The Hill
- The King of the Hill game mode divides players in two teams to fight for the control of only one flag. The team that owns the flag will gain score in time. They need to stay in the circle of the flag in order to score. The first team which achieved the goal wins the game.
5.Team Deathmatch (Special)
- Team Deathmatch (Special) rules are basically same as in Team Deathmatch only with limited weapon selection. It can be of several types as follows:
1.Pistol War (Secondary weapons and melee weapons.)
2.Medieval (Melee weapons)
3.Rain of grenades (Fragment grenades)
4.Rocket barrage (Rocket-launchers and grenade launchers)

Ranks:

Those points that player uses to skills will be reseted after one game, aswell the armors etc. that player has gained during the battle.
Players can buy armors and potions in store that is located in the starting base, or other choice is that player will buy items elsewere with using the quick icon button that allows to buy items while not in base, but it will costs more than it would in the base.
