From the magical land of Xadia we're bringing you a Jelly Tart worth stealing - but no need to do so, recipe and ingredients are below!INGREDIENTS2 Pears4 fuyu persimmons2 anjou pears¼ cup brown sugar½ cup granulated sugar1 orange (juiced and zested)2 tbsp water1 tbsp cornstarch1/4 tsp nutmeg1/4 tsp ginger1/4 tsp cinnamonTart Crust2 ½ cups all-purpose flour1 cup unsalted butter¼ cup ice water2 tbsp sugar2 large egg yolksINSTRUCTIONSYields 12 tarts1. Cut and core pear and persimmons. Peel and cut into small chunks. Throw both of the cut fruit into a food processor to puree. Transfer into a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, add both sugars and stirring frequently.2. In a small bowl, mix together water, cornstarch and spices until dissolved. Add to the puree, along with the orange juice and half the zest and reduce the temp to low.3. Cook on low for about 15 minutes until mixture has slightly thickened. Remove from heat to cool down to room temp.4. Pre-heat the oven to 375ºF. 5. In the bowl of a food processor, combine flour, butter and sugar. Pulse until the mixture resembles sand, about 10-15 seconds.6. Add egg yolks, remainder of orange zest, and pour in cold water bit by bit, processing and pulsing until the mixture forms a dough. Free free to add additional water by the teaspoon if dough is too crumbly.7. Mound the dough together & wrap in a large sheet of plastic wrap, flattening into discs about ½-inch thick. Chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes-1 hour.8. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper. Remove the dough from the fridge & roll to about ⅛-inch thickness. Using a 4.5-inch diameter circle cookie cutter, cut out about 6 discs from the dough and set on the tray.9. To build the tarts, spoon about 1 tbsp. of the pear-persimmon jelly into the center of each dough circle & spread to within ½-inch of the edges. Fold 3 sides towards the center to create a triangle, leaving a triangle opening in the center. Pinch the corners to seal in place.10. Brush the tarts with the beaten egg & sprinkle with sugar. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Knead the dough (with hands or stand mixer), and add 1 tbsp cold water at a time until smooth dough forms. (Do not add too much water or overwork).4. Divide dough into 2, form disks, wrap in plastic wrap, and put in the fridge to chill for at least 2 hours before using.**Note: Use ~8 tbsp of ice cold water**Note: Place and shape half the dough into the cast iron, then set in the fridge covered.5. Let dough rest outside of the fridge for 30 minutes before putting into oven.BLUEBERRY FILLING:6½ cups (about 950g) blueberries1¼ cup sugar¾ cup cornstarch1 ¼ tbsp lemon1½ tsp lemon zest1 tsp ground cinnamonInstructions:1. In a mixing bowl, combine blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon, lemon zest, and cinnamon. PIE ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:½ -¼ cup granulated sugar1 egg + 1 tbsp water for egg wash1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.2. Spread blueberry filling onto the pie crust.**Make a mound, and don’t worry about spreading the fillings flat as the berries will spread as it cooks. 3. Cover with top pie crust and seal.4. Cut 5 slits on top, and crimp the edges of the pie. Then, egg wash the pie.5. Bake for 25 minutes.6. Remove from the oven, drop the temperature to 400°F. Sprinkle pie top with sugar as desired. 7. Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes, either until golden brown and/or blueberry starts bubbling.8. Do a second layer of egg wash, and finish baking it off for 10 more minutes.9. Remove and let cool completely so the filling sets.10. If you rush the process and not let it cool, the filling will run liquid!11. Remove the mochi from heat, transfer to a slightly greased, large bowl for mixing, Mix, then incorporate food coloring. Add in butter, and mix well. *tip: we added in butter so that it’s easier and less sticky to work with. Also adds a surprisingly nice taste to the mochi. Feel free to opt out of this part.Cover well, and set aside until cool to touch. Lightly dust a surface with corn starch, and roll out mochi with a dusted roller, until about 1” thick. *tip: keep it light! Too much starch is not good.We used a dusted cutter for desired shape. Gently place mochi into a tea cup or small sauce bowl, fill with filling, and pinch tightly to close. Preheat oven to 350°F, and prepare baking tin with cupcake liners2. In a saucepan, infuse milk and earl grey tea over high heat. 3. Remove from heat the moment a boil forms, and let tea steep for about 20 minutes. Then, strain loose tea leaves/bags. Set aside to let cool. [Earl grey infused milk]4. In a medium separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and pinch of salt. Set aside. [Dry ingredients]5. Using a stand mixer with paddle attachment (or a hand mixer with a large bowl) on medium speed, combine butter and sugar until fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Since the yield of the recipe is small, some butter can be caught at the bottom of the mixing bowl before it’s incorporated with the sugar. Ensure to scrape. 6. Then, individually add each egg on medium speed, ensuring to scrape the bowl after mixing.Decrease the speed to low, and incorporate half of our dry ingredients until just combined. Emphasis on “just combined” as over mixing will cause the cupcakes to not rise properly7. Add in our Earl grey infused milk, mix until just combined. Then, add in the remainder of dry ingredients until combined.8. Fill the cupcake liners to about ¾ full, and bake for about 15-20 minutes. Test if a cupcake is ready by pricking with a toothpick, checking if it comes out cleanly. Otherwise, bake for an additional 1-2 minutes.9. Remove cupcakes from the pan, and set aside to cool. We want the cupcakes to cool completely, otherwise the frosting will melt and slide right off of the cupcake.10. Frost on the lemon buttercream, add a maraschino cherry and voila! For the Lemon Buttercream FrostingIngredients1 cup butter, softened4 ½ cups powdered sugar, sifted1 lemon juice1 lemon zestGood dyeMaraschino cherries Directions1. Whip butter with a mixer on medium speed until whipped and fluffy, about 5 minutes.2. Incorporate powdered sugar, zest, and food coloring, and mix on low. Slowly incorporate lemon juice as it mixes. Mix until combined.**Tip: make sure to scrape butter off the bottom of the bowl to incorporate.3. Then mix on medium for approximately 3-4 minutes until buttercream consistency is achieved**Tip: if the buttercream splits, try adding in more powdered sugar. You want stiff peaks. Yuzu creme:1 cup heavy cream4 tbsp yuzu jamDash of sugar- Combine all ingredients and whip until desired consistency - Transfer to a container, and fridge until ready to use.DOUGH INGREDIENTS3g active dry yeast155g milk, bring to 100°F200g bread flour 16g sugar2g salt Food coloring 15g unsalted butter, softenedSesame seeds- Combine milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar to activate the yeast.- In a separate bowl, combine flour and 16 g sugar. Then, add milk yeast mixture.- After mixing a bit, incorporate salt and continue mixing.- Transfer to a surface, or use a stand mix, and knead the dough until it looks smooth and even, about 5-6 minutes. Separate into four pieces of dough (for the four variety of filling and colors)- Flatten the doughs, add butter, a drop of food coloring (respectively to flavors), fold, and continue kneading the doughs until it looks shiny, smooth, and even. - While working at dough, cover the others so they don’t dry - Place in several greased bowls/baking sheets, cover well with plastic wrap, and allow to rise for 2 hours. It should about double - You want plenty of space between all doughs due to how much it rises and it touching- Transfer to a flat surface and release the air from the doughs. Begin shaping each dough.- Depending on the dough yield and preferred size, you can cut each colored dough into 2s- Cover again, and... - For matcha and potato dough, we will let it rest for 10 minutes so that we can put the filling inside to bake. - We want the gluten to relax a little as we will be working with it again. - For strawberry and yuzu, pinch the dough to close and shape into a poffin. Set aside on a greased baking sheet that is well covered, let it rise for an additional 30 minutes. Set aside as we continue next steps.- Preheat the oven to 350°F.- After matcha and potato dough rests, lightly press the air out and begin filling the center with matcha and potato paste, respectively. Pinch dough tightly to close, and shape the bun into poffin.- In a large greased pan, set matcha and potato dough, covered, to rise for an additional 30 minutes. Then design with sesame seeds/sprinkles- Bake in the oven for 16-18 minutes- Allow to cool. Make sure to keep an eye on it occasionally due to oven differencesRemove from oven and let it coolOnce cooled down, create a hole at the bottom of the puff, and pipe vanilla bean pastry creamDecorate accordingly.Vanilla Bean Pastry CreamIngredients:1 large whole egg2 large egg yolks½ cup sugar¼ cup cornstarchPinch of salt2 cups whole milk1 Vanilla bean or 1 tbsp vanilla bean paste¼ cup cold butter cubedAdd all egg, egg yolks, sugar, corn starch, and salt into a mixing bowl. Whisk completely for about 6 minutes until a pale yellow cream is achievedAdd milk and vanilla bean into a saucepan, and heat over medium high heat, occasionally stirring until a slight simmer is achieved, remove from heatAdd hot milk into egg mixture slowly and bit by bit and whisk thoroughly.Incorporate the rest of the milk in parts while mixing, then pour mixture back into saucepanHeat over medium-low and continuously whisk until thicken, about 4 minutesRemove from heat and let cool, about 5 minutesAdd chunks of butter, whisk, then strain with a strainerSet in fridge for about 3 hoursMarshmallow Fondant Ribbons (Recipe from Rosanna Pansino)Ingredients:½ bag of marshmallows3 cups of powdered sugar1 ½ tablespoons of waterPurple gel food colouringIn a heatsafe bowl, place marshmallows and pour water all over. Be a pro like Mama Wong and make sure there is no dough crumbs sticking to your hands or bowl. Cover and let sit for 45 minutes to an hour.Begin making your filling by combining ground beef, diced ginger, and stirring together with some water to make the combined filling more smooth. Add in your star of anise water (soak a star of anise in a small bowl of water overnight and remove the anise) and continue mixing the mixture until fully incorporated. Add in your chicken bouillon powder, oyster sauce, vegetable oil, soy sauce, and salt and continue mixing until everything is combined.. Add in your shrimp, scrambled eggs and stir further. Finally, add in chopped chives (optional) and mix until everything is completely mixed together. Dumplings are highly flexible, so if you don't agree with any of the ingredients in the filling, feel free to leave it out or try something else instead!With your dough haven risen, flour it a bit and punch out the air with a few kneads. The dough should have almost no lumps in it and be smooth on the surface. Tear off a chunk and roll it into a cylinder, then either use a knife or your hands to tear off small sections for your dumpling wrappers. Flour your surface and use your hand to slightly compress each of the dough bits. Then using a small rolling pin, flatten the dough and then proceed to work your way around it, with the rolling pin at a 90 degree angle to your body, and pressing down and upwards onto the dumpling skin, rotating it 20 degrees with your other hand, and continuing the same motion. When you're complete you should have a circular dumpling skin with a larger bump in the middle where the rolling pin never crossed. Also, if this is too hard, just buy some pre-made dumpling skins. Don't worry. We all do it.Now comes the wrapping! Place a small amount in the middle of your dumpling skin (when in doubt, put less rather than more!). Fold over the middle of the dumpling skin first, then work your way down both sides, pinching the edges closed. Your dumpling wrapper should be fairly flexible, so don't be afraid to pull it a little bit if your dumpling filling is about to leak out. Most importantly, don't let any dumpling filling get between the skin / dough when you are pinching it together, otherwise it won't stick and will explode when you go to cook it.Add your dumplings to a pot of boiling water, stirring occasionally, until they float to the surface. Remove from the water, and serve piping hot! (Dipping sauces are highly variable, but it's usually combination of soy sauce (1/3) and black vinegar (2/3). It will slowly expand the longer it stays in the water. Boil the water with the konbu inside. Remove the konbu when the water reaches boiling, and pour in your bonito flakes into the hot water. Let them sit for 30 seconds to a minute, then strain the liquid into another container.In a separate bowl, mix the miso paste with garlic powder until combined. Slowly add in your dashi stock bit by bit, stirring the mixture until it is smooth with no bumps. When all of your dashi stock and paste are mixed together, add it to some washed white rice (clean well!). Mix the ingredients together and then cook the rice in a rice cooker. If you do not have a rice cooker, the stove will work as well, but you will run the danger of rice sticking to the bottom of the pan. Cook the black rice as well and set aside.To make the inner filling of the onigiri (optional), shred your salted salmon and add in equal parts mayonnaise. Stir together until fully combined. Prepare the ears for the onigiri by drying seasoned bamboo, then cut into a square, and then into two equally sized triangles. Cut small shapes out from your dried seaweed with small scissors or an x-acto knife (please exercise caution!). You will be making a half circle for the nose, a small thin rectangle for the top of the mouth, and a triangular angle for the mouth (create by cutting a square and trimming for the desired shape). You will also make two ovals for the eyes.When your dashi rice and black rice are fully cooked, let them cool a bit before handling. Make sure to keep a bowl of water nearby so you can always wet your hands when handling and shaping the rice.Take your dashi rice and shape it in your hands to form a triangle about the size of the palm of your hand. Carve out a middle section with a spoon or a small knife, and fill it in with your salmon filling. Place your black rice around the outside to form the bottom part of the onigiri’s face and mold it into shape. Make sure to have a picture of the final product nearby so you can reference it as you build. Use the spatula and plastic wrap to help cover your creation and push pieces into place so they don’t stick to your fingers.Create the ears on both sides with smaller triangles and use some mayonnaise to glue your triangle bamboo shoot ear pieces on top. Add in the asparagus, and toss through. Let cook until softened, about two to three minutes.4. Remove from heat, and toss into a bowl with the bacon and cheese. Stir through, and set aside.5. Make buckwheat crepes by lightly greasing a non-stick pan and setting over low heat. Add batter to the pan, roll it around the surface, and, when edges start to get lacy and flick up, turn the pancake out onto a plate to cool.6.To assemble galette, add a crepe back to the pan on low heat. Layer in the filling, and crack an egg in the middle. Allow to cook about five minutes, or until egg white has set. Bring to a boil while stirring consistency. Let boil for 30 minutes. Using an immersion blender or food processor, blend the jam until smooth. (Be careful if using an immersion blender, as the jam will be hot.) Over low heat, simmer for 20 more minutes once its been blended.Once cooked, divide into 6 bowls to color. Using food coloring gel, color the apple jams red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Let come to room temperature before covering and putting in the fridge to cool. Cover and put into the fridge to cool and set. Once the jam is set and cooled, apply jam in order of color to a piece of japanese milk bread.The first things we need for zap apple jam are, of course, apples! We’re using granny smith and honeycrisp. Peel and core the apples, and chop them up into small pieces. Fill a large bowl with about 4 cups of water and a pinch of salt. Let the salt dissolve before adding the apples. The salt will prevent them from turning brown. In a large saucepot, add the apples, sugar, pectin, cinnamon, ginger, lemon juice, and pectin. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring consistently. Allow the jam to boil for 30 minutes, then use a hand blender, blend the apple chunks until smooth. Reduce to low heat, and allow the jam to simmer for an additional 20 minutes.For the rainbow element, we added the jam to 6 little bowls and then colored each of them with a little bit of gel food coloring on a toothpick, and then a good stir to blend in the color. you will need all of the colors of the rainbow for maximum my little pony authenticity: orange, yellow, purple, green, blue and red--this is not rainbow order, we’ll get to that when the jam meets the bread. Now that we have all our colors ready, let’s put them all together on the bread. We wanted to showcase the vivid colors, so we didn’t toast our bread. You’ll just have to imagine a golden brown toast with creamy butter and there you have it--freshly made, delicious zap apple jam in all its rainbow glory. In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine sugar, blood orange juice and both citrus zests by whisk until combined.Add butter and beat until well combined. Add vanilla extract. Slowly add dry ingredients and mix until combined. Drop dough onto a floured surface. You may need to turn the dough a couple of times by hand in case it isn’t fully incorporated by mixer. Roll out dough to about ½ an inch thick. Put dough into the fridge for 30-60 minutes to set for best results.Once set, press the cookie cutters into the dough but using a scalloped cutter and a round 1 inch cutter to cut out the hole in the middle. Repeat the process of rolling out dough, putting in fridge to set for an additional few minutes, and cutting out wreaths until all the dough has turned into your unbaked cookies.Bake for 12-15 minutes at 350F until edges are golden brown. Make icing and garnishes while cookies are baking.To create the rosemary, dip sprigs in water and place on prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle granulated sugar and make sure the sprigs are completely coated. Let sugar dry completely, for at least an hour. (Best to be made the day before.)To create vanilla icing, mix powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract and an entire bowl of blood orange zest into a bowl. If icing is too thick, add additional milk by the teaspoon. Icing should be the consistency of simple syrup - not super runny but also not thick like honey. Cover with saran wrap until ready to use.Once the cookies have baked and cooled, dip the top of the cookie straight into the bowl of icing. Let the excess icing drizzle off, and let set on a parchment lined wire rack to set.Add rosemary and orange swirls to top off the festive look. Cut foil squares about 5x5 inches. Place the flower cookie cutter one square of the foil, and fill with orange sherbet. Pack it in tight and smooth with an offset spatula or a butter knife. (this is the mane of the lion.) Remove the cutter and put into the freezer on top of the parchment lined cookie sheet while you repeat the process.Spoon the lemon ice cream into a piping bag (or a ziploc bag). Set in a cup to soften while you remove the middle of the orange sherbet flowers. Remove one of the orange sherbet manes from the freezer. Put the floral cookie cutter back around the mane in order to keep it from melting faster while working with it.Stick mouse/bear cookie cutter in the middle. Remove the sherbet in the middle of the cookie cutter with a spoon, then remove the cutter. This should make a mouse shaped hole in the middle of your mane. Pipe lemon or mango ice cream in its place. Remove the floral cookie cutter from around the mane and return back to the freezer to keep from melting excessively. (Pro tip: put an extra cookie sheet in the freezer to put on top of the foil to keep the cold locked in when in the freezer and also transferring.)After they have set, remove a lion licker one by one to insert the popsicle stick in the bottom by inserting a knife into the bottom and sticking the popsicle stick into the bottom. Place a foil square on top and return back to the freezer to set. If this part gets melty, remember the lion lickers are not perfect so strive for imperfection. Repeat process until all are completed. Let set in the freezer for at least 1-2 hours to reset.Melt chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl for intervals of 20 seconds until completely melted. Pour into a ziploc or piping bag.Remove a lion licker from the freezer. Carve a small hole in each chocolate chip and insert a white pearl. These are the eyes. Snip off the corner of the ziploc to create his nose and mouth. The chocolate will set very quickly. If you can peel each leaf off the head of cabbage, you can dad these to the boiling water individually or as a group and repeat the same process. Once you are finished with the cabbage, repeat the process for your green onions.Once the cabbage leaves are cooked, dry them off on a paper towel, and carefully use a knife to cut off the thicker and less malleable spine, and also remove some of the bottom part of the cabbage leaf so only the most flexible and bendy parts are left. Add your filling to the center and carefully wrap the cabbage leaf up on each side, then use your green onions to tie a knot and seal the deal. Do this for the rest of the cabbage leaves until you have wrapped up all your jade parcels.Heat oil in a 6- to 8-qt. pot over high heat. Add ginger and garlic and stir-fry until fragrant, 30 seconds to 1 minute. Add spices, chiles, and chile bean paste and fry, stirring, 1 minute to release flavors. How to Make DOG-NUT from Steven Universe! | Feast of Fiction | Food IRL In Real Life Feast Of Fiction 2020-10-14 | Ingredients:Hot dogs Donuts:1 1/4 cups milk2 1/4 tsp (one package) active dry yeast2 eggs 1 stick of butter, melted and cooled1/2 cup sugar1 tsp salt4 cups flour2 quarts neutral oil for fryingMustard sauce:3/4 cup yellow mustard1/4 cup apple cider vinegar2 Tbsp sugar2 teaspoons hot sauce1 tsp Worcestershire sauce1/2 tsp vanilla extractChocolate glaze:1 cup confectioners sugar3 Tbsp cocoa powder1 1/2 Tbsp milk1 tsp vanillaStrawberry glaze:1 1/2 tbsp strawberry jam1 cup confectioners sugar1 tsp ketchup1 Tbsp. Milk Instructions:1. Heat the milk so it is warm. In a large bowl, add the milk and yeast. Stir lightly and let sit 5 minutes until the mixture in foamy.2. Using a stand mixer with a dough hook, add the eggs, butter, sugar and salt, into the yeast mixture, and beat together. Add half the flour and mix until combined. Add the remaining flour and mix until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. 3. Transfer to a floured surface and knead until smooth.4. Grease a large bowl, and transfer the dough to the bowl and cover. Let rise at room temperature until the dough has doubled in size, about 1 hour.5. Turn the dough out onto a well floured surface and roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out the donuts with one large circle (about 3 inch diameter) and one small (shot glass)6. Put the donuts on 2 floured baking sheets, at least 3 inches apart. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes.7. About 15 minutes before the donuts are done rising, heat the oil in a Dutch oven to 375 degrees F. Line cooling racks with paper towel.8. Carefully add the donuts to the oil, using a metal spatula so they remain puffed up. Fry until golden, about 45 seconds on each side. Transfer to prepared cooling racks9. For the chocolate glaze, sift together the sugar and cocoa powder. Slowly stir in the milk and vanilla to make a smooth glaze.10. For the strawberry glaze, whisk the ingredients together until well combined and smooth.11. For the mustard, add the ingredients to small saucepan, bring to a simmer, whisking continuously. Let cool.12. Cook the hot dogs as desired.13. Dip the donuts in glaze and assemble the dog-nut. Soak the cashews in water overnight2. How to Make Ochazuke from Princess Mononoke | Feast of Fiction Anime Food In Real Life Feast Of Fiction 2020-09-01 | Today we've got a simple and easy Ochazuke recipe from one of our favorite Miyazaki Films "Princess Mononoke". INGREDIENTS1 salted salmon (or ½ fillet of salmon and pinch of salt)1 cup cooked Japanese short-grain rice1 tsp Japanese rice crackers (Bubu Arare)1 tsp shredded nori seaweed ¼ tsp toasted white sesame seeds⅛ scallion, cut into small pieces)Wasabi (optional, for taste)Pickled plum, umeboshiSalmon roe (Ikura)Hot Green TeaINSTRUCTIONS1. Bake the salted salmon fillet (shiojake) at 400F degree for 25 minutes. If you’re using regular salmon, season the salmon with salt and set aside for 10 minutes before baking. When it’s cooked, remove the skin and bones and break up the salmon flesh into flakes. Set aside.2. If you don’t have Bubu Arare, crush rice crackers into small pieces (you can also use a bag to crush it).3. Ochazuke with Green Tea (You can substitute with Dashi for a more savory dish): Boil water and prepare Green Tea in a kettle.4. Now serve the cooked rice in the serving bowl. Place the shredded salmon and sprinkle the rice cracker, nori, all additional sides and finally sesame seeds on top.5. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease 4 ramekins with non stick spray, canola oil or butter.2. In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a bowl until well combined. Divide into ramekins until evenly distributed. Pack down in the crumbs in the bottom of the ramekins to create crust. Blind bake for 8-10 minutes. Let cool to room temperature. Cool to room temperature before placing in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour.7. While pies are chilling, make the whipped cream by whipping heavy cream and sugar in a mixer until it reaches stiff peaks. Divide the whipped cream into 4 bowls and color each bowl according to the flavors of each fruit pie.8. Once fruit pies have cooled, carefully remove pies from ramekins. Line an 8 or 9 inch springform pan with a circle of parchment paper. Grease the entire pan with butter and sprinkle cocoa powder all around in order to dust the pan completely.2. Whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and cocoa powder in a large bowl.3. Cream the butter and sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer. Add the coffee, oil, buttermlik, eggs and vanilla to combine. Add the dry ingredients.Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan and bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes. Insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean, it’s done!4. Remove from oven, let come to room temp before removing the cake from the springform pan. Remove the cake from the pan and trim the top of the cake with a bread or serrated knife to even it out. Transfer cake to serving dish by putting the plate on top of the cake and flipping it over. Place cake in the fridge to cool further.5. To create the rose garnish, melt black candy melts in the microwave and pour into a silicone rose mold. Put in fridge to set.6. To create the ganache, pour the heavy cream into a small saucepan over medium heat. Remove the pan when the cream starts to simmer.7. Place the milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips into a medium sized bowl and pour the hot cream over it. Let the chips sit undisturbed in the cream for 3 minutes before stirring. After 3 minutes, stir the ganache until it's smooth. Let cool to room temperature before using but don’t let it sit too long because the consistency will become too thick for dripping.8. Pull the cake out of the fridge and use a spoon to drip the ganache down the side of the cake all the way around. Pour the remaining ganache in the middle and smooth with an offset spatula or a butter knife.9. Prepare two baking sheets with a piece of parchment paper.In a medium bowl, whisk flour, salt and rosemary together. In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine sugar, blood orange juice and both citrus zests by whisk until combined.Add butter and beat until well combined. Add vanilla extract. Slowly add dry ingredients and mix until combined. Drop dough onto a floured surface. You may need to turn the dough a couple of times by hand in case it isn’t fully incorporated by mixer. Roll out dough to about ½ an inch thick. Using the direwolf template, trace onto parchment paper and cut out.Lie stencil on top of dough, and cut around it with a knife. Place direwolf shaped short breads onto the parchment lined baking sheet. Score the dough with a knife, and use a fork to give the shortbread the wolf-like texture. Repeat 6-8 until all the dough is cut out. Amaze your friends with this visually stunning and mouth-wateringly delicious fried rice at a dinner party. Just sit back and watch as their minds (and maybe their clothes) are blown off in delight.Prep Time: 35 minutesTotal Time: 55 minutesServes: 4 passionate taste testers.Ingredients1 Whole pineapple (including pineapple shell and leaves)1 tablespoon sea salt, plus more if needed2 tablespoons coconut oil1 cup ground pork1/2 cup ddiced white onion2 carrots, peeled and diced1 tablespoon oyster sauce2 1/2 cups cooked white rice1 tablespoon curry powder1 tablespoon soy sauce Pinch of freshly ground black pepper2 large eggs1/3 cup frozen peas2 scallions, diced1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.2. Cut off the stem of the pineapple, setting the leaves aside. Cut the pineapple in half vertically.3. Scoop out the pineapple and dice the flesh into chunks. Sprinkle the sea salt inside both sides of the pineapple shell. Set aside.4. Heat 1 tablespoon of the coconut oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the ground pork and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Add the pineapple, onion, and carrots. Stir-fry until the carrots are tender, and the onions are soft, 8 to 10 minutes. Add the oyster sauce. Stir the cooked white rice into the skillet, making sure the rice isn't clumpy and the mixture is well combined. Add the curry powder, soy sauce, and pepper. Continue to cook until the curry is fragrant and the rice is shiny, about 5 minutes.5. In a separate small skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of coconut oil and scramble the eggs for 1 to 2 minutes until they are three-quarters of the way cooked. Combine the eggs with the pork and veggies, along with the peas and scallions, and mix to combine.6. Transfer the fried rice from the skillet to the inside of the pineapple shells and bake on a baking sheet for 20 minutes. Take out of the oven to cool.7. Fill u pa large oval bowl with your fried rice and pack it in tight to resemble the inside of the pineapple. Place a larger plate or serving dish on top of the bowl and flip the bowl over. If you're using non-organic apples, remove the wax coating by bringing a large pot of water to steaming hot, and add 1 Tbsp of baking soda. Let dissolve.2. Pull any stems and stickers off of your apples and drop them into the hot water.Let them sit in the water for 1 minute, turning them to make sure all sides are exposed. Carefully take the apples out and set them on a towel to dry. Thoroughly dry them - this will also ensure that you will have the smoothest candy apples possible. Skewer the apples with the lollipop sticks where the stem used to be.3. Prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a non-stick spray and set aside.4. In a medium pot, mix together the sugar, corn syrup and water over medium heat. Have your candy thermometer inserted but make sure the tip is not touching the bottom of your pan. Bring to a boil until it reaches 300 degrees. There is no need to continually stir it.5. When it reaches the hard crack stage (302 degrees) remove from heat immediately and stir in your flavoring. We’re using cinnamon flavoring oil and vanilla extract, but you can use strawberry, cotton candy, watermelon, whatever flavoring oil you like.6. Quickly add the red food coloring and stir to combine. Carefully dip the apples. Let the excess candy mixture drip a little and then place the apples on the cookie sheet.7. The apples will be ready to eat within minutes. Exercise caution when biting into the hard candy.They will keep for a few days. Scoop ice cream into bowl2. Add chocolate syrup3. Add whipped cream4. Slice and place strawberry pie. PIE INSTRUCTIONS:Prepare the pie crust dough via scratch or store bought. (we prepared the dough from the Feast of Fiction Kitchen Cookbook, page 179)Roll out one of the pie crust doughs between two sheets of parchment paper. Roll dough about 9 inches in diameter (or enough to cover your pie dish). Use your pie tin as a measuring tool by placing it over your rolled dough to make sure your dough covers it. Roll or transfer the dough into the pie tin and firmly press it into the bottom and sides of pie tin. Trim the excess dough leaving about a 1/2-inch overhang all around. Cover with plastic wrap and let chill in the fridge.Roll out the other dough until the diameter covers the diameter of the pie dish and in between two sheets of parchment paper. Let chill in the fridge for 15 minutes.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.Wash, hull and cut your strawberries into small chunks. Measure out two cups, and combine with the sugar, water, cornstarch, lemon zest and juice, and cinnamon in a medium saucepan. Cook on medium heat until the mixture starts to bubble, remove from heat.Add the rest of the strawberries to the cooked strawberries and combine.Pour strawberry mixture into the chilled pie crust. Place chilled pie dough on top of the pie, crimp with a fork or pleat the edges. Brush the top the pie with milk and sprinkle with turbinado sugar. Cut a couple of small slits at the top to vent the pie.Bake for 45 minutes. If the top of the pie starts to brown quickly, place a piece of foil over the top to prevent even further browning.Let pie cool before serving. In the bowl of an Instant pot (or similar pressure cooker), wash the beans twice.2. Add the water and cook on the program "Beans" for 60 minutes. Make sure the nob on your Instant Pot is pointed towards sealing.3. Once done cooking, remove the lid and add the sugar and vanilla extract.4. Turn the Instant Pot to sauté to cook all the water out. This will take anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on how much water was left in the pot. Make sure to stir constantly so that the beans do not stick to the bottom of the pot. Cook until a paste forms. This step requires lots of patience!5. Allow the red bean paste to cool before wrapping the buns.Dough:1. In the bowl of an electric mixer (or just a large bowl), combine all the ingredients.2. Knead on medium for 10 minutes or until a firm slightly elastic dough forms. This dough cannot be sticky or tacky at all. It's better to have a firmer dough than wet. Add flour as needed.3. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and allow to rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.4. Dump dough out onto a floured surface and cut into equal pieces (whatever size you want).5. To wrap the buns, flat the dough into a circular disc. Try to make the edges slightly thinner than the center.6. Place 1 spoonful of red bean paste into the center. Start to pull the dough up while pushing the filling down with your finger. Crimp the edges all around.7. Allow to rest again under a damp towel for 10-20 minutes while your water comes to a boil in your steamer.8. Line the steamer with parchment paper and drape a damp cloth over it. Place buns in with about a centimeter of space around each. Steam for 12 minutes.9. Turn off the heat and let sit for 1-2 minutes, then remove the lid. Continue to mix for about 5 more minutes.4 Reduce the mixing speed to low, add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix only until just combined.5 Using a wooden spoon, mix in the Special K cereal, M&M’s, popcorn, and crumbled turkey bacon. Don’t overmix the batter.6 Using an ice cream scoop (or about 11/2 table- spoons of cookie dough), scoop the dough onto the lined cookie sheet with at least 3 inches of space between each cookie.7 Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the sides of the cookie begin to brown. Whisk in the sugar, nutmeg, and salt. Add the butter and use your fingers or a fork to mix into the dry ingredients as you would in making a pastry crust, until evenly distributed. Add the milk, yogurt, vanilla, and egg and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.Use a piping bag or a spoon to fill the doughnut pan 3/4th of the way full. Bake until doughnuts are a light golden brown and spring back when touched, about 10 minutes. Let cool slightly before glazing.While doughnuts are baking, prepare the glaze. In a medium saucepan, combine butter, milk, corn syrup and vanilla and cook on low until butter is melted. Add the white chocolate, continuously stirring until melted. Sprinkle 2 tbsp more of chocolate and stir until melted. Turn off the heat and add powdered sugar and stir until combined and smooth. Mix in hot sauce, cayenne, cinnamon and food coloring. Dip donuts into glaze. Place on parchment lined tray. Remove the dough from the bowl and gently knead it a few times by folding the dough over on itself and then punching it down. Shape the dough into a tight ball.6. Lightly coat the stand mixer bowl with cooking spray or oil. Return the dough to the bowl. Cover with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel. Let rise in a warm place until the dough is doubled in size and gently rises back when poked, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.7. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.Turn the risen dough out onto a clean work surface. Use a sharp knife to cut the dough into 6 (about 5-ounce) equal pieces. Working with one piece of dough at a time, shape the dough into tight rounds. Place the shaped roll on a baking sheet. 8. Let it soak for 5-10 minutes, and when ready, remove and lay on a paper towel to dry.Spicy Mayo:Mix your sriracha sauce (or any hot sauce you desire) and mayonnaise together. Set aside.Assemble your sandwich by cutting the dutch crunch bread in half, spreading spicy mayo on the bottom, then followed by your turkey meat, lettuce, tomatoes, banana peppers, and any other sandwich ingredients you like. INGREDIENTS1 1/2 cups of elbow macaroni1/4 cup butter1 Tbsp. flour1/2 tsp. salt1 cup whole milk1 cup sharp white cheddar, shredded1/2 cup Gruyere shredded1/4 cup all-purpose flour2 large eggs beaten3/4 cup panko bread crumbsvelveeta cheese for injectingINSTRUCTIONS1. Cook the macaroni noodles for slightly less than according to package directions and drain.2. Melt butter into a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in flour and salt. Turn heat up to medium-low, stirring constantly, until mixture is bubbly.3. Slowly whisk in milk into the flour mixture, whisking constantly, until sauce is smooth. Bring sauce to a boil; reduce to low heat and simmer for 1 minute.4. Stir in the shredded cheeses. Continue to cook, while stirring, until cheese is melted.5. Remove from heat and fold the pasta into the cheese sauce.6. Coat a large silicone ice cube tray with non-stick cooking oil and add the mac and cheese. Let cool for 30 mins, then chill in the fridge for at least 30 mins.7. Place flour, eggs, and bread crumbs in 3 separate shallow bowls. Dredge each macaroni and cheese bite: coat bite lightly with flour, dip in eggs, then coat with bread crumbs.8. Heat oil in 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Cook about half of the bites at one time, frying bites for 1-1 1/2 minutes per side. Drain bites on paper towels and inject with velveeta. Prepare Tart Crust Recipe (COOKBOOK ONLY) or prepare a ready-made pie crust from the grocery store and skip to step 2. After tart dough has cooled,. divide dough into 10-12 balls. On a floured surface, roll each ball out into a flat disk a little larger than the mini tart pan.2. Shape carefully into each tart pan, using a paring knife to cut around the top of the pan to even it out if necessary. Place all 6 on a baking sheet and dock each mini tart with a fork. Put back into the freezer for 20 minutes before baking.3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. Rotate tarts halfway through baking in the oven to get a more even bake. Let cool completely.4. Each piece should be smaller than a clenched fist. In a large pot, blanch the meat and bones and date by placing it in water, bringing to a boil, and cooking until the meat has fully turned color. Skim the scum off the top, remove the meat, and bring to a sink. Wash off the remaining pieces of meat with cold water, and place back into the pot (you can also use a new pot of water if you'd like).Prepare your vegetables by peeling the skin off of them and cutting into equal sized chunks.Place your vegetables in with the meat, letting the water entirely cover the ingredients, bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 3+ hours. Add chicken bouillon powder (optional) and salt and mix thoroughly. To learn more about the community check us out at: http://www.patreon.com/FeastOfFictionFriendship is Magic and so are these Sapphire Cupcakes from My Little Pony!INGREDIENTS:Candy sapphires:1 cup of sugar1/3 cup of light corn syrup1/3 cup of waterBlue hard candy coloringRaspberry/blueberry FlavoringSilicone moldBlue shimmer/lustre dustBlueberry buttercream frosting:1 cup unsalted butter (chilled and cubed)3 cups confectioner’s sugar3 tbsp heavy whipping cream½ tsp blueberry emulsion flavoringWhite cupcake box mix, typically needs:EggsVegetable oilCupcake liners (white or tan colored)INSTRUCTIONS:1. In a large deep sauce pan combine water, sugar, corn syrup, and food coloring. Mix over medium high heat until sugar starts to dissolve. Attach a candy thermometer to the side of the pan making sure it does not touch the bottom of pan for an accurate temperature.2. Continue to boil until sugar mixture reaches 300 degrees (hard crack stage) about 20 minutes. Watch closely, if mixture starts to boil to close to the edge of pan remove from heat, and stir until bubbles subside. Then return to medium high heat. It's better to slightly be over 300°F than under for candy to set properly.3. Once mixture reaches 300 degrees remove from heat and stir in the flavoring, working quickly. 4. Pour immediately into molds. Allow to cool for 1 hour.5. Bake cupcakes according to the package.6. Begin making the frosting.7. OPTIONAL: place about 1 1/2 cups worth of the blueberries in a small food processor or blender and puree until smooth, stop to scrape the sides as needed. This should only take a minute or two. 7. Beat butter in the bowl of a stand mixer until creamy.8. Turn mixer to low and add confectioner’s sugar until combined.9. Add heavy cream, blueberry emulsion and a couple drops of blue food coloring to desired shade. Beat until frosting is smooth and blue.10. If adding optional pureed blueberries, continue adding confectioner's sugar and mixing until the frosting is thick and holds its shape.11. Fill a piping bag, cut off the tip and frost cupcakes in a circular motion working inwards. In a large pot over medium heat, add the olive oil, onion, celery, green peppers, garlic, and spices. Cook for about 5 minutes to allow the spices to infuse the vegetables.7. Add the chicken broth, tomatoes, and kidney beans and simmer for 30-40 minutes.8. Make the sauce while the wings are almost done, just melt the butter and hot wing sauce in a small saucepan together.9. Once the wings are done mix them in a large bowl with the sauce.10. Bake the wings in the oven after coating with sauce for another 5-10 minutes.11. Remove the wings from the oven and coat once more in the hot sauce.12. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, add granulated sugar, stirring constantly until the sugar clumps up and melts into a thick brown, amber-colored liquid as you continue to stir. Be careful not to burn.2. Once sugar is completely melted, immediately add the butter. Be mindful as the caramel with bubble up very quickly. combine until butter is completely melted.Stir the butter into the caramel until it is completely melted, about 2 minutes, stirring continously.3. Slowly pour into heavy cream while stirring consistently. Allow the mixture to boil for 1 minute. It will rise in the pan as it boils. Remove from heat and stir in the salt. Allow to slightly cool down before using. Keep warm in pot on stove over until using. Caramel thickens as it cools.Berry Chocolate Sauce:1. Place the berries in a saucepan and cook over high-medium heat for about 4 minutes, mashing up with the back of a large spoon and stirring consistently. 2. Transfer the mixture into a fine-mesh strainer, pressing the berries into the sides of the strainer with a spatula, leaving behind just the berry syrup.3. combine water and cornstarch and mix until dissolved creating a slurry.4. Place the berry sauce back in the saucepan, add the sugar, cocoa, corn starch slurry and vanilla extract, bring to boil and simmer for 2 minutes stirring with a whisk consistently. Gradually add the milk, whisking the whole time, bring to boil, then simmer for a few more minutes. Add the butter, stir and remove from the heat. Keep on stove until ready to use. In a large stand mixer, combine milk, yeast, sugar, salt, butter egg and 3 cups flour. Knead on low until a smooth dough ball forms. Add more flour ¼ cup at a time to achieve desired texture. Your dough should be tacky but not sticky.2. Transfer dough to a lightly greased mixing bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise until double in size - about 1 hour.3. Roll dough into ¼ inch thick. Cut dough with sword mold.4. Place sword dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let rise for about 30 minutes or until desired height.5. Preheat oven to 375. Bake rolls until lightly browned, about 12-15 minutes.6. We made the HARDEST Food Wars Recipe - RAINBOW TERRINE! | Feast of Fiction Feast Of Fiction 2019-12-08 | The Rainbow Terrine from Food Wars (Shokugeki No Soma) might be the single most complicated recipe they've ever featured on the show. Even though it's not as fantastic as some of Soma's later recipes (and no clothes get blown off as a result), this terrine will take up plenty of time and require a lot of patience.INGREDIENTS:Spices:AllspiceSaltPepperCombining Sauce:12 eggs1 pint heavy creamCarrot Layer:3 carrots, minced1 tbsp butter1/2 cup ground chickenSpinach Layer:2 cups spinachCanned tuna1 tbsp butterZucchini Layer:1 Zucchini1/2 cup ground beef1 tbsp butterPumpkin Layer (Eggplant in our case):1 Eggplant (can be directly substituted with pumpkin)\1 tbsp butterMushroom Layer:1/2 cup ground chicken2/3 cup shiitake mushroomsTomato Layer:12 cherry tomatoes1/2 can tomato pastePotato Layer:2 potatoes, boiled and mashed1 tbsp butterHerb Sauce:2 tbsp. perilla1/4 cup walnuts2 tbsp pine nuts1 tbsp parsley2 tsp basil2 tsp chopped fresh dill2 tbsp olive oilSalt and pepperPonzu sauce:3 grams unflavored gelatin powder2 tablespoons warm water1 tbsp sudachi juice or 1 tbsp lime juice2 tbsp soy sauce1 tbsp mirin2 tbsp chicken brothINSTRUCTIONSBefore beginning recipe, create a large batch of "combining sauce". The ratio for the sauce is 1 tbsp to 1 egg. Beat thoroughly in a bowl and set aside.Prepare all of your ingredients prior to cooking. Cook ground chicken and mince / food process / blend. Do the same for carrots, zucchini, eggplant/pumpkin, shiitake mushrooms. Prepare other ingredients. Boil a pot of water and blanch spinach for 30-40 seconds before removing and rinsing in cold water. Boil potatoes until soft and mash. Cut tomatoes in half and place on a pan, seasoning with salt and pepper, baking at 225 degrees F for 2 and 1/2 hours.Cook each layer one at a time on a stove top on medium high heat. If you have more than one pan to cook with, you can do multiple at a time, depending on skill level. Start each layer with a tablespoon of butter to prepare the pot.For the carrot layer, cook minced carrots on medium-high heat until softened. Add in ground chicken, mix together. Add 1/7th of your combining sauce and continue stirring until fully combined. Remove from heat and set aside in a container.For the spinach layer, take your blanched spinach and finely mince. Combine immediately with tuna on a stove at medium high heat until ingredients have melted together. Add combining sauce and continue stirring until fully combined. Remove from heat and set aside in a container.For the zucchini layer, food process or mince your zucchini. Cook your ground beef until browned and add zucchini. Continue mixing together and cooking. Add combining sauce and continue stirring until fully combined. Add a few dashes of all spice. Remove from heat and set aside in a container.For the pumpkin layer, cut eggplant (or pumpkin) into tiny sections and add to pan with butter. Cook until fully softened. Add combining sauce and continue stirring until fully combined. Remove from heat and set aside in a container.For the mushroom layer, thinly mince your mushrooms in a blender or food processor. Cook chicken on the pan until fully cooked. Remove and continue to mince in a blender or food processor. Add chicken and mushrooms together with butter. Add any amount of all spice you'd like. Stir and mix until combined. Add combining sauce and continue stirring until fully combined. Remove from heat and set aside in a container.For the tomato layer, pour in half a can of tomato paste, add in sundried tomatoes, stir, then add combining sauce and continue stirring until fully combined. Remove from heat and set aside in a container. Add an additional egg if the sauce needs extra thickening.For the potato layer, take peeled soft potatoes and roughly mash. Add to pan with butter and use salt, pepper, and allspice to season. Add combining sauce and continue stirring until fully combined. Remove from heat and set aside in a container.Assemble your terrine in a pate container. Take care to layer it evenly with a spoon or spatula, and not pressing too hard from layer to layer, otherwise it will smash and mush into other layers. Once you've placed each layer, bake in an oven at 265 degrees F. Place pate container in a larger baking pan and fill with water so it reaches the halfway mark on the pate.While that is baking, create the two sauces. For the herb sauce, put perilla, walnuts, pine nuts, parsley, basil, chopped dill, and olive oil in a food processor and blend until more liquid.For the ponzu sauce, combine gelatin powder, warm water, sudachi juice, soy sauce, mirin, and chicken broth. Mix thoroughly and place aside to chill.When the terrine finishes baking, remove and let cool. Place in refrigerator to chill. Once chilled, remove the terrine and cut off a slice from either end. Plate with your two sauces in a circular swirl around as well as some garnish.

Chicken thigh meat1/2 cup of potato starchFrying OilBánh Xèo wrap3/4 cup flour (low protein such as cake/pastry flour)3/4 cup Rice Flour1 cup Water3/4 cup coconut milk1/2 tsp. Turmeric4 tsp. Sesame oilLettucePerillaFlat-Leaf Parsley or cilantroBlack PepperCHILI SAUCE3 Tablespoons Hot Sauce2 Tbsp. Chili sauce1 Tablespoon Lemon JuiceINSTRUCTIONS1. Cut chicken thighs into small cubes.2. Cut onion and apple small chunks, put into a food processor with the other marinade ingredients, and puree. Put the marinade into a plastic bag and add the chicken. Place into the refrigerator and let marinate overnight.3. Heat frying oil to 350°F. Place chicken and marinade into a bowl and add the potato starch. Lightly toss until somewhat combined, but do not mix until each chicken piece is evenly coated because the uneven pockets of potato starch will give the chicken its signature unique texture.4. Deep-fry for 5 minutes, or until golden brown. While frying, use a skimmer to scoop the meat out of the oil briefly one or two times to air (this give it the effect of being "twice-fried")5. Make the Banh Xeo batter by putting the flour, rice flour, and turmeric into the bowl of a stand mixer and mix to combine. Slowly add coconut milk, water and beat into a batter.6. Heat cooking oil in a frying pan then add 1/4 of the batter. Quickly spread it thinly across the pan and cook on low heat. Once the edges start turning up add one teaspoon of sesame oil all the way around the edges and cook until crispy. Quickly flip with a spatula, briefly cook the other side, and then move to a plate. Repeat with the remaining three portions of the batter.7. Place the parsely, perilla leaves and lettuce leaves onto the wrap and add the fried chicken.
