Incidental Release

Rob finds a chemical leak from the sulfuric acid tank. He calls his boss (Vicky) to inform her of the leak.

The leak is a small, steady flow leaking from the fill valve and contained within the secondary containment, so Rob describes it as an incidental release.

Understanding how to describe a chemical leak becomes very important when making notifications. This effective communication will help tremendously in the Hazmat response.
