ETSU's Tennessee Climate Office and the Geoinformatics and Disaster Science Lab are driving hazard mitigation and climate resilience efforts across Tennessee.

In this episode, Dr. Andrew Joyner highlights the team’s impactful work, including contributions to the state mitigation plan and collaborations with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA). Their expertise in climate data, flood modeling, and risk assessment is helping communities prepare for and respond to disasters.

The team’s work focuses on addressing climate risks, including flooding, extreme weather, and events like the 2016 Sevier County wildfires. Learn how these initiatives, combined with insights from recent events like Hurricane Helene, are shaping a more prepared and resilient Tennessee.
