Hayden Panettiere passed away suddenly on Aug. 16, just five days before her 37th birthday. While the investigation remains ongoing, 911 dispatch audio reveals the actress passed away after a suspected overdose. She was found unresponsive at an apartment in Greenville, S.C., where she was temporarily staying. Local police tell Access there are no signs of foul play at this time. It's not yet clear if the acquaintance who called 911 was Hayden's on-and-off boyfriend Brian Hickerson, with whom she'd reportedly flown from Los Angeles to South Carolina the day before her death. The pair had a tumultuous relationship over eight years, with Hickerson arrested multiple times for domestic abuse. In 2021 he was sentenced to 45 days in jail after he pleaded no contest to two felony counts of injuring a spouse or a girlfriend. Despite the serious allegations there is no indication he had any involvement in Hayden's death.
