In 2018, the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area began celebrating its 25th anniversary with a series of events, including raptor banding and identification trips for the public. One of the banding trips gave local naturalists a chance to work on a Boise State University study focused on the health of ferruginous hawks.
