For the 2026-2027 school year, the Hawaii DOE has finally adopted a cell phone rule across all public schools in the State. I wanted to share my perspective as a parent of a public school student, former public school student, and former instructor/teacher (in college). Did the DOE make the right move? How will the students adjust to the rules?
