Come hike an ACTIVE VOLCANO with us!! This is one of the coolest things we have ever done and we talk about it so, so much. There were no active lava flows on the Big Island while we were there, but it came with a major perk - we could walk on Kilauea! This place is sacred, said to be the home of Pele, and has erupted several times since our journey. This hike is marked as moderate to challenging, and is definitely harder when wet, but I would do it again. This trail is actually a loop trail, but we didn't know lol so we went back up the way we came making our lives harder. Get a map before venturing down the Iki trail!
