From her home in Virginia, Sneha Sudhir said it had been 48 hours since she last heard from her husband, Srinivas Sudhir Rangu, and the nine other fathers who had set out with him from Nepal on a trek to Tibet's Mount Kailash before flash floods struck the region.

Echoing that she hasn't heard anything on their whreabouts, Sudhir spoke USA TODAY Co. partner Reuters surrounded by the wives of the other men.

"Everybody is taking turns in shedding their tears, wiping it off and getting back to work," she said.

While hundreds have been rescued amid the devastating flooding in Nepal and Tibet, over 1,900 remain missing.
