Take "un petit dessert" for instance – it translates to "a little dessert". It doesn’t mean that the dessert is necessarily small, but it’s just a dessert said in a cuter way!

In writing, it's “un petit dessert”, but say it out loud and it’s pronounced as “umti dessert”.

This doesn't hinder understanding, thanks to our brains prioritising the key word here, which is “dessert”. 🍨
