HATRICK - Unreleased Demos (Jacksonville, Florida Skate Punk)
The story of Hatrick starts in 1997 in Jacksonville, Florida. The members were Jordan McDowell, Randy Karriker, Jeremy Baker and Brad Moxey. With this lineup, the band recorded a few demo tapes and a demo CD. In 1998 Mason Romaine joined the band as a second guitarist so that Jordan McDowell could focus on vocals. The band then recorded its first album, The Place You Call Home, which was released by the label Takeover Records. Soon after the release of the album, Randy left band. After Inspection 12 briefly broke up, they invited Scott Shad (Inspection 12's drummer) to join as a guitar player. Eventually Brad Moxey left the band (and later joined Evergreen Terrace). That's when Hatrick acquired J.P Prieto to replace Brad on drums. J.P also played for the Jacksonville band Greyfield at one point. Everything was looking great for Hatrick and Inspection 12 until 2001, when Scott Shad tragically died in a car accident (suffering from diabetic shock). The band regrouped, and recorded a 5-song EP titled Don't Worry About It. The album was released in 2002, right after Joey Ball joined the band. In 2005 the band recorded a 3-song Promo (their final recording), and the band broke up shortly after. Eventually, two members of Hatrick (Jeremy Baker and Jordan McDowell) started the band Whaleface, and had some moderate success. Jeremy Baker is now the bass player for Inspection 12, who includes Peter Mosely (from I-12 and Yellowcard), and Tim Grisnik on drums (from The Softer Side)
