Characters: Nettlekit (dark grey tom-kit), Darkshadow (grey marked tom), and Tawnypaw (tabby Thunderclan tom)
Scene: Nettlekit's father, Darkshadow, punishes his son harshly for revealing the fact that Darkshadow had attacked and nearly killed Shrewclaw, the newly appointed deputy of Riverclan (angry at being passed over for the role). Unbeknownst to either of the Riverclan cats, a Thunderclan apprentice witnesses the maiming from the shadows across the boundary.
