Improving the thing by exchanging some resistors (and removing a diode) …
↓↓↓ Complete description, time index and links below ↓↓↓
Several weeks ago we reversed engineered the basically unusable battery indicator of the Haswing Protruar 2.0 24V and came up with some modifications to improve it (link below). Now I got the parts and we can get to work.
First we recap of the planned improvement. After that we exchange nine SMD resistors and do a test, which fails miserably. During the following troubleshooting we find a “surprise” diode and after removing it everything works as expected.
00:00 Intro – after reverse engineering, we’ll improving
00:54 Recap – the current circuit and how to improve it
02:57 SMD soldering – nine 0805 resistors (2012 metric)
09:15 Disappointment – all voltages are 0.7V to high
11:51 Troubleshooting – the M1 polyfuse is a diode!
16:54 Solution – get rid of the diode, it’s useless anyway
19:08 Success – LEDs switch on at the exact voltages
20:43 Wrap-up – next we’re back to fly-by-wire, bye
