Volkswagen used to make some pretty "out there" cars - the W8 Passat, Mk. 4 / Mk. 5 R32's, and the "Spektrum Series" of Golf's to name a few. Recently, however, it seems like they've cared more about making EV SUV's, and less about the community of enthusiasts that got them to where they are today.
