Phil Halper (aka Skydivephil) | Has the Big Bounce been ruled out? @PhilHalper1 | Uploaded December 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
Earlier this year, Scientific American published an article with the headline "The Universe Began with a Bang, Not a Bounce," claiming that a new analysis of the European Space Agency's Planck Satellite speaks powerfully against the Big Bounce model from Loop Quantum Cosmology (LQC). LQC is a cosmological model inspired by the mother theory of Loop Quantum Gravity ( a rival to string theory).
However, one of the researchers mentioned in the article, Ivan Agullo, argues the story is totally misconceived, and the evidence is consistent with a Bounce. In this film, he explains why.
