Once the crop is ready, a John Deere 9700i forage harvester equipped with a John Deere 649 pickup head chops the triticale while trucks keep the operation moving.
The chopped forage is hauled to a nearby feedlot where two John Deere 9520R tractors equipped with silage blades continuously push and pack the pile to preserve forage quality.
