The Harris Corporation-built Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) monitors hurricanes from 22,300 miles above Earth. The ABI is the primary payload on NOAA's GOES-16 weather satellite, which launched in November 2016. It is the world's most advanced digital camera and tracks weather changes in more detail faster than older cameras, helping to improve forecasting and public safety.
