moon decides to take vel out to see the stars and talk to them. vel takes this as an opportunity to vent about her people
when vel encounters the gray avian, she feels an aura similar to that moment when moon took her to talk to the stars. vel remembers how condemned she felt when her people didn't rescue her. but what does it matter now? her people may have abandoned her, but she's found her place on earth now, and she will protect the balance of it by killing this avian.
