NASCAR racer Kyle Petty takes us to LaVergne High School in Tennessee for the first monthly check-in with the Northern Tool Legends Build: Student Challenge team!
These high school welding students will transform a Harley-Davidson Nightster and parts into a flat track race bike in just 174 days.
To kick things off, the students had a virtual session with Scott Parker—nine-time Grand National Champion—to discuss flat track racing and its history. Then, Sons of Speed Founder Billy Lane brought everyone into the shop for a walkaround of the Nightster: what's staying, what's going, and what they'll build from scratch.
The pressure is on and the clock is ticking! Will they finish the build in time for the June 2026 reveal at Tennessee National Raceway?
