After growing about 300 vegetable seedlings in my living room and then my sunroom, it finally became time to start taking them outdoors and hardening the seedlings.

Hardening is the process of getting your tender seedlings used to the harsh conditions of outdoors, the burning sun, the wind, the pounding rain...

If you grow seedlings indoors from seed and don't harden them, the chances are high that you will accidentally kill them or at the very least damage the leaves, stems and roots.

You usually have to take them out, then back inside every day for a week or two, depending on how hot your weather is.
