ꜰᴏʀ 41 ʏᴇᴀʀꜱ, Russell Marcotrigiano has dedicated himself to a life of ᴘᴜʙʟɪᴄ ꜱᴇʀᴠɪᴄᴇ. “Marco” spent three decades protecting and serving the @cityoftampa in all three patrol districts in a variety of roles from the Quick Uniform Attack on Drugs Squad (QUAD), Street Anti-Crime Unit (SAC), Criminal Intelligence Bureau, and the Support Services Division.
He has always been a leader in the department's training. He served as a Field Training Officer, commander of the Mass Incident Response Team (MIRT) for more than ten years, a member of the SWAT team for nine years, and instructed Defensive Tactics and Officer Survival for the department.
After retiring as a Major, he was still committed to making a difference. Marco came back to teach at our Police Academy as a training specialist in 2011 and has taught our newest recruits and developed many of our current leaders over the last 11 years.
