This was originally done as a new years video for 2021.
An Evening with the Big Band. A Car will pick you up around 7. No need to eat, as hors d'oeuvres & Refreshments will be served. Or perhaps we'll stop along the way & get a bite. Music by Band in a Box. Please do dress up a bit & please,,, no blue jeans. If you start this video at 11 P.M. it will end at about 3 minutes to midnight & a New Year! Enough time to freshen up your glass for a toast!
All Mush, All The Time!
For Musicians: It's been a while since I've done any serious arranging. This was a fun exercise in working with old standards & a couple of originals & dolling them up for New Years. The only Midi instrumentation is mostly the set melody. All else is using Real Instruments from BIAB. All the Midi melodies are run through a Ketron SD2, Garritan soft synths & stuff like that. A number of the original files were all midi files created by the great Wesley Dick way back in the day. With out his labor of love, we would not be hearing this at all. I converted them / to real instruments & in most cases altered the arrangements, intro's, endings, chords, etc. Many songs are still being formed so to speak. They have the basic melody which plays over & over & over again. I've not had the time to put in say, a free form solo, to break the monotony up a bit. Perhaps next year! It's an experiment!
So with a Tip of the hat to Toots, Benny, Percy, Henry, Don & the Mark IV, Acker, Etc,,, Many, Many others,,, Onward!
Here's to hoping we all have a good new year.
After NYears I will retitle it as, "Music to relax by" or some such thing.
