Happy New Year!
Hey Everyone!
I'm finally back to making videos. My first in quite awhile. I decided the last day of 2022 was the perfect day to get back into the swing of things after a much longer break than I expected. For those of you who have been following me on my creative journey....all 5,367 as of today....who knew?... I'll start off by sharing where I've been and what I've been up to.
For those of you brand new to my channel...Welcome! I hope you'll join me as I continue on my creative journey in 2023. I'll share what I have worked on in 2022 to give you an idea of all the different projects and styles I like to work in. This video was a great exercise for me to look back and see what I've accomplished at a time when I was feeling like I hadn't done as much as I had hoped this last year. Lots of life changes had me feeling a little scattered and my recent absence from the studio left me overwhelmed and wondering where to begin in 2023.
Today the sun is shining on brand new snow and I'm feeling creative again and ready to take on 2023. I think I'll start with tidying up the studio so that I can hopefully take you on a virtual tour soon. I'm also anxious to finish up those projects that are so close to being done and continue working on those that aren't with a renewed sense of purpose. I also have few ideas for videos to share some of the new things I want to experiment on after watching other creators during my break from the studio. I did a little binge watching this last month and found some wonderful creators that you probably already know but were new to me: @AnneBrookeTextileArtist has several old slow stitching projects from 2020 that I'm anxious to do; as I mentioned in this video. I also found @luiseheinzl and watched her dephemerember series. She has such a free spirited, no fear way of creating and like me loves to experiment. While our styles might be different I found the way she goes about projects very similar to the way I work and felt a great sense of community watching her channel. @KylieCooStudio was another channel I've watched a bit as I'm really wanting to get more into mix media art and collage work. I also found Judy Verhoeven's amazing 🤩 collage work on @GreenvilleOpenStudios where they feature lots of wonderful artists. So inspired I can't wait to get creating!
