After much planning, we left England just over a year ago to build a new life in beautiful rural Portugal #SerraDaEstrela - It's not been easy, but it has been wonderful.

I don't really know much about raising chickens, but we are trying to become less reliant on the shops and to grow more of our own produce, so we thought we'd give it a try!
Remember, if you are raising chickens that you will get males...and you may not be popular with neighbours if you have a cock that crows when they are having a lie-in! Consider what you will do with any male birds before you start!
