May 14th was a BIG day here at the Zoo! Adanna, our first hippo baby, was born on this day 2 years ago, AND 5 years ago, we got one of the best surprises ever — in the form of a baby elephant. Ajabu's name means "amazing" or "astonishing," and there's no doubt we've been in awe of this amazing elephant since day one. Ajabu continues to thrive, and we could not be more grateful for that! He has recently befriended a duckling that's been hanging out in the Giants of the Savanna, so Ajabu's keepers decided to throw him a duck-themed birthday party. Happy 5th Birthday to our amazing, astonishing little man!
