Happy 30th Birthday to the Nintendo! In honor of this special milestone, we bring you the story of Barbara Whalen, a grandmother and printing executive who came to NBC to admit her addiction to video games. Despite her age, she games as well as any youngster, boasting that she once played for 16 hours in a day and has already reached level 8 of the (then) new Super Mario Brothers game. Her surprising story gives credibility to the factoid at the end of this piece: "Nearly one half of all Nintendo players are adults."
