Former President Trump is taking time off the campaign trail Friday morning, linking up with Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) to survey the damage left by Hurricane Helene in the battleground state.

The duo will be briefed on recovery efforts in the state, after Helene brought dangerous winds and heavy flooding to the southeastern U.S.

The visit marks the GOP nominee’s second one to the state this week. In remarks Monday, he blasted the Biden administration’s response to the storm. Despite the criticism, Kemp spoke with Biden over the weekend and offered his gratitude for the federal government’s support.

Trump and the Georgia governor, who have a rocky past, have made strides to show a united front during this election cycle, with Georgia shaping up to be a critical swing state in November.

Their remarks from Evans, Ga., are scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
