I'm so tired this morning because I was up past midnight last night (way past my bedtime) partying like a ROCK STAR because the Hansen Communication Lab Facebook page reached 500 fans!

I know that doesn't sound like a lot to the "big boys" out there with thousands of fans, but please know that it's a big deal for me and I truly appreciate all of you joining my community and hanging out with me at Hansen Comm Lab.

I am a speech and communication specialist. It's my job to help you speak more clearly and confidently in English, and if you stick around on my page, I promise we'll have you speaking like a star in no time! I focus on Global English, so what that means is that I don't try to force you into sounding British or American, or like me! I want you to be proud of your accent. It shows your culture and heritage and it's important you hold onto that. What I will show you is how you can speak more clearly and articulate your words so more people can better understand your messages.

I thought I'd take this opportunity to introduce myself to all of you since many of you don't really know me. My name is Heather Hansen - you can call me Heather - and I'm originally from California, USA. I've lived abroad for the past ten years - 4 years in Denmark (my gorgeous husband is Danish) and then moved to Singapore in 2006. I have two beautiful little girls who are 2 and 4 years old, so when I'm not working, I'm usually spending time with them reading, drawing, playing games, and of course, correcting their speech! ;-)

I'm looking forward to building this community bigger and bigger. Let's be the coolest English language hangout on the internet! That's my goal! Thanks for hanging out with me. Keep sending your questions and I'll try my best to answer them for you on the page or in my videos.
