Brenden, a freshwater sciences graduate student, took advantage of UWM's many opportunities for hands-on experience.They ranged from researching alongside his professors, collaborating with outside organizations and working for UWM's renowned McLellan lab which pioneered covid detection in wastewater which was adapted nationally. At a freshwater sciences career fair, Brenden was able to speak with industry professionals, leading to an internship with WaterTech of America where he now works as a field engineer.
"My advice to future Panthers would be to follow your passion." Brenden says. "It might change as you're going through school, but, just keep following it and I think you'll be happy with where you end up."
