As requested by almondberry827, I'll be covering Handel's Royal Fireworks Music with the Pokémon HGSS soundfont, starting with the overture.
The title of this popular suite bears its origin from the fact that it was originally conceived to accompany a grand fireworks display, celebrating the end of the War of the Austrian Succession.
While the event was an absolute disaster, with even a fire breaking out, the music, at least, was not and it has remained a beloved piece to this day.
The suite begins with a robust Overture, easily dwarfing all the movements that follow it. After an appropriately grand-sounding slow introduction, the music bursts forth with a joyous Allegro (2:53). Only once near the end does it slow down for a section marked "Lentement" (6:15), which adds a degree of pathos to the scene, before the Allegro returns (7:20) to finish the Overture.
