Join us for an evening with the Uzbek novelist, poet, and journalist Hamid Ismailov. Ismailov will read from some of his latest work as well as answer questions about his creative
practice, the experience of writing ""between the lines"" in both linguistic and generic terms, and his understanding of contemporary Central Asian literature.
Hamid Ismailov is one of the most prominent contemporary Central Asian writers. His numerous works of poetry and prose in Uzbek and Russian include The Railway, The Underground, and The Dead Lake. His novel The Devils’ Dance, winner of the 2019 EBRD Literature Prize, forms a trilogy with Of Strangers and Bees and his newest work, Manaschi.
